Don’t Assume the Police Report Tells the Whole Story

March 19, 20261 min read

Police reports are an important part of any car accident case, but they are not always the final word on what actually happened. Officers typically arrive after the accident and must rely on statements, observations, and limited information gathered at the scene.

Because of this, reports can sometimes be incomplete or contain errors. Fault may be assigned incorrectly, or key details may be missing altogether. While insurance companies often rely heavily on police reports, they are only one piece of the overall picture.

Even if a report does not fully support your side, it does not mean you do not have a valid claim. Additional evidence such as photos, witness statements, and further investigation can significantly impact the outcome of a case.
